About the Chorus

Conductor
Dr. Timothy SeeligTim Seelig has been making music as a conductor, singer, teacher for 35 years. In addition to being the Artistic Director of Resounding Harmony, he is currently the Director of Art for Peace & Justice, Artistic Director in Residence for GALA Choruses and has been on the adjunct music faculty at Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts since 1996. In addition, he continues an extremely busy guest-conducting schedule throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He presents workshops regularly at ACDA and MENC conventions as well as conducting All-State Choruses around the U.S. During 20 years as the Artistic Director of the world-renowned Turtle Creek Chorale, he conducted the chorus as guests of numerous conventions, tours and 37 CD recordings. He is Conductor Emeritus of the Turtle Creek Chorale.
Dr. Seelig holds four degrees, including the DMA from the University of North Texas and the Diploma from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. He is a prolific author with four books and two DVDs on choral technique. These include the best-sellers The Perfect Blend and The Perfect Rehearsal, both with accompanying DVDs. The fifth, The Music Within, is due out in April of 2010 and the sixth, The Language of Music in the Summer of 2010.
Dr. Seelig's early training was as a singer. He made his European operatic debut at the Staatsoper in St. Gallen, Switzerland and his solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall. He also created roles in world premiers of world renown composers including John Corigliano, Conrad Susa and Peter Schikele (P.D.Q. Bach).
In 2009, Dr. Seelig conducted his 5th appearance at Carnegie Hall and the European Premier of Sing for the Cure at Royal Festival Hall in London. In 2010, he will conduct the 10th Anniversary of Sing for the Cure at Carnegie Hall and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
Known for his enthusiasm and sense of humor, Grammy Magazine says, "Dr. Seelig takes eclecticism to new heights." Fanfare Magazine says he raises singers from "the ranks of amateur choir to one receiving wide recognition for excellent performances of appealing, fresh repertoire." The New York Times calls Seelig an "expressive performer," and the Fort Worth Star Telegram quips, "Seelig slices a thick cut of ham."
He is the proud father of two wonderful children and, impatiently awaiting the arrival of grandchildren.

Antoine SpencerMr. Spencer is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. Mr. Spencer has served in public school education. He holds a master’s degree in public school administration. Mr. Spencer was the principal accompanist for the Turtle Creek Chorale for 17 years and accompanied the Texas Girls Choir. He was the minister of music at Holy Way Baptist Church in Fort Worth and was the pianist for White Rock Community Church.
Russ Rieger A graduate of the University of Kansas, Russ holds a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance and Church Music. Russ is currently the Director of Music Ministries at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church. He is the principal accompanist and organist for the Turtle Creek Chorale and has been the accompanist for The Women’s Chorus of Dallas.

Robert Huneke - Chorus Manager Upon graduation from Bowie High School in Arlington Texas, Robert spent two years in the United States Air Force before returning to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. For the next five years, Robert worked for Al’s Formal Wear. In this capacity, one of his clients was the Turtle Creek Chorale. Having a love for music, Robert joined the Chorale in the fall of 2001 and spent the next five and a half years in various positions, including working on the Internet committee, serving as member-at-large, holding the position of Secretary and serving on the Board of Directors and finally on the staff. In 2002, he performed Sing For The Cure with the Chorale at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
In 2007, Robert moved with Dr. Seelig to work for Hope for Peace & Justice, where he helped plan, organize and produce the first Voices of Peace concert with Dr. Maya Angelou as the keynote speaker. Robert currently serves the logistics coordinator for Hope for Peace and Justice, does consulting work with other organizations including GALA Choruses inc. and is now the Chorus Manager for Resounding Harmony.
Dr. Pam Elrod - Artistic Advisor A native of Austin, Texas, Pamela Elrod serves as the Director of Choral Activities, Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University. Dr. Elrod holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from the University of Texas at Austin and a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. She has taught choral music at all levels, having served on the faculties of schools in Lubbock, Texas; Austin; New York City; Urbana, Illinois; and Atlanta, Georgia. She also regularly serves as a choral clinician and adjudicator in Texas, as well as throughout the United States.
An accomplished vocalist, Dr. Elrod maintains an active performing career, appearing as a guest artist with numerous university, professional, community and church choirs throughout the country. From 1988 until 1999, she sang with the late Robert Shaw, performing and recording with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers, the Robert Shaw Choral Institutes, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and the Atlanta Symphony Chamber Chorus. In June 2005, she returned to Atlanta to perform and record with the Chamber Chorus as the alto soloist in the Mass in G-Minor by Ralph Vaughan Williams. She was also the featured soloist with the Chamber Chorus in a performance of the Vaughan Williams at the Ojai Music Festival in June 2006. Dr. Elrod currently sings with the Grammy-nominated professional choral ensemble, Conspirare, under the direction of Craig Hella Johnson.
Mark Frie - Production Liaison Mark is thrilled to be working with Resounding Harmony in its inaugural season. He has been a performer and director in many regional theaters. He has performed with Casa Manana Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Music Theatre Wichita, and the Starlight Theatre. He performed in and directed the Turtle Creek Chorale's adaptation of FOREVER PLAID in 2005. Mark starred in Plano Repertory Theatres' production of Swing! (Rabin Nomination) ad has performed in numerous concerts including Carnegie Hall and Westminster Abbey, London. He had two solo albums. He is married to another fabulous singer, Kim Cornell-Frie and the proud papa of Cameron.
James Granville Eakin III - Composer in Residence James Granville Eakin has received numerous commissions from some of the leading performers and ensembles in the US. Since 2001, he has been the Composer-In-Residence for the Turtle Creek Chorale and has been on the Aspen Music Festival and School faculty since 2004.
Dr. Eakin earned a B.M. from Centenary College, a M.M. from Southern Methodist University and a D.M.A. from the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has studied with such notable composers as Chen Yi, Zhou Long, James Mobberley, John Corigliano and George Tsontakis.
As a performer, Dr. Eakin is a bass vocalist and is a founding member of Armonia, a professional early music ensemble based in Kansas City, Missouri. He has performed throughout Europe and the US. In 1998, he was a soloist at the President's Christmas Gala at the White House.
Eakin's music is published by E.C. Schirmer, Lux Nova Press, Shawnee Press, and James Eakin Publications.
Currently, Dr. Eakin keeps a full-time composition and lecture schedule.
Shawn Northcutt - Official Photographer Shawn Northcutt has been one of Dallas’ leading photographers for the last 16 years. While he started in still photography, his desire to tell stories with his art eventually led him into videography. Known as a master of lighting in a variety of styles, he brings this expertise to film making his work truly unique and extraordinary.
He has done work for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Dr. Maya Angelou, Marlo Thomas and Shawnee Press. His work has been seen throughout GALA from photography and graphic design to his choreography of the lovely, award-winning Turtle Creek Strangerettes.
